Ie; it can't be combat in general but can be small blades, or guns. It can also be a defensive manoeuvre, dodge, block, parry, or a non combative skill such as cooking or smithing. To work out your skill level in an action take your base stat, add it to the appropriate secondary stat then add any skill level you may posses. Now divide this number by three, rounding to the nearest whole number. Ie guard is using his gun sword as a sword. D10 potential. He has 3Str, 2Dex and 3 in sword play. Total =8 8/3 = 2.6 (3) Therefore his attack would be 3+d7 Now he the same guard is trying to cook in the chefs kitchen. He has an OK setup d8 potential. Will 1 Attention 2 Cooking 0 Total 3/3 =1 Cooking results is 1+d7 result =4 To determine how good a non combat skill result is, half it and use the 1 to 6 chart as above. so 2 is between poor and average.
