Hm... I've been thinking of two things... 1. Because Del Sombra's name implies "Of Unknown Origin" and that she's incapable of representing a normal human, she's probably not related to any of the gods, and might be one of the younger gods, who's creation is either a powerful concept that gained conscience. Or a "left over" from something else. It would also explain her bizzare curiosity. 2.Her champion would be selected by who ever stumbles on AND picks up a small idol that has been placed out in the open for anyone to see.
