Logan really hoped he was right when he assumed Jason was joking about being sad that he couldn't do the Bat Bogey hex. If he wasn’t joking that would be very silly, but Logan held his tongue. Logan wasn’t trying to be mean, but this kid seriously pushed his buttons. But other than disturbing his quiet, has Jason really done anything that permits Logan to be such an asshole? He supposed not, so he took a mental deep breath-in and tried to relax. Jason’s next comment actually did hit a sore spot with Logan. Being a Slytherin, especially after the war, has been tough. It is automatically assumed that your family supported Voldemort and most likely your parents were Death Eaters. However, that was far from the case for Logan and his family. Despite being purebloods and coming from a long line of them, the Hillsteads always felt that you should treat everyone equally, no matter their bloodline, race, gender and social status. Because of that they were very much against Voldemort, but Hillsteads also have a bad quality, the ability to not care enough. Logan’s demeanor wasn’t just randomly brought on, he observed his parents who act very similarly. So when the war started, the Hillsteads took a back seat, like they always have. Jason thinking he wanted to kill him though, that hurt. Did he really seem like that awful of a person? “No… I don’t want to kill you. I don’t want to kill anyone. I just know Moody would tease the crap out of us if we did the more user-friendly spells. And I don’t know about you, I do not feel like being mocked in front of the entire class.” Logan did his best to speak in his softer voice, trying hard not to give Jason even more reasons to hate him. Logan may not care what people think of him majority of the time, but he definitely didn’t want to be hated by someone who barely knows him. “Look, if it makes you feel better, you can cast the spells on me and I will use the shield charm.” Logan was 100% sure his shield charm would protect him. He mastered it in his first year. “Well you said yourself, you wouldn’t leave until we got started, so what else am I supposed to do, just ignore you forever? I am not a jerk.” Logan didn’t know why his desire to right Jason’s first impressions about himself were so important, but at the moment, he did want a fresh start. They were partnered together and he couldn’t change that. And while he may not care about homework and classes, Jason must, and it wouldn’t be fair to just fuck the guy over because he was a lazy ass. Nodding his head, Logan turned and started to pack up his stuff. He knew Madam Pince would not allow any magic, other than an occasional Lumos, to be performed in the library. “Ya we can go somewhere else. Did you have any suggestions?” Logan didn’t go to many places in the castle. He basically stuck to his dorm, library, classroom and the Great hall. He had a hunch Jason would not want to go back to the Slytherin dorm, and Logan was not too keen going into the Lion’s den. And they definitely couldn’t go into the Great hall. Maybe an empty classroom or somewhere outside.
