Suddenly and for some unexplained reason, everything went dark. Arachne could barely see in front of her, even if she used her phone's light. "What the shit is going on?" Arachne said as she put her hand against the wall and started walking. Was the school under attack? Did some student get pissy and decide to throw a tantrum? Arachne didn't know, but she wasn't about to be a casualty. Carefully she pulled the white paper mask from her pocket and took a deep breath. Since she's already fed the Black Beast, she should have some more control over it this time. She just hoped it wasn't afraid of the dark. For a beast that looks like it's made from shadows, it would be ironic if it feared the dark. "Here goes nothing!" Arachne donned the mask, transforming from her humble human self into that of a large, slimey monster in a vaguely humanoid shape. Sure enough it's black skin melded with the darkness around it, make it practically impossible to see it with normal eyes. Even it's white mask was hard to see in this absolute darkness. But in this form, Arachne was a bit more confident in protecting herself; the black beast couldn't be stabbed in the back after all, and it's natural camouflage ought to help it hide from danger. And since Arachne was in full control, she hopefully won't hurt anyone by accident. "Now let's figure out who turned off the lights."
