[@LegionPothIX] For what it's worth, a method I may use in order to stay within a certain time frame (or without time having to move much at all) is the use of dialogue and/or flashbacks (i.e. something the PC overhears triggers a memory from long ago, etc). I like flashbacks as a way of character building, and allowing the reader to understand a bit more about the character, whether it's trivial info or not, showing their personality traits in action, or perhaps their upbringing, etc. For instance, stuff that you may have touched on in your bio could be explained in more detail, to a degree.
