Thanks! The flashing of blue and red illuminate the night. A crowd of onlookers are off to the side as the officer waves you through. You get out of your vehicle and walk over to the sergeant. "What do we have?". He nods toward the alley. "Thinking brawl fight that ended badly. Couple witnesses say him and some other guy were arguing over something and started fighting. Bouncer tossed them out. Apparently, they kept at it." He shook his head. "Well at least it's an easy open and shut case." "Not as easy as you might think." You hunch down beside dead body and look him over. He did look like he was in a fight. Bruising on his face. His knuckles raw and bleeding. Dried blood. But nothing to serious. You examine the body for knife wounds but don't see any. You do notice however some bruising at the throat. You narrow your eyes and use your pen light to examine it better. "Medical examiner on his way?" The officer laughs. "Right. I don't know where you're from but this is pretty low on the totem pole. He'll get it when he gets to it. We'll bag and tag and they'll probably go over it at the lab." You shake your head but save your breath. You knew that this was low on the priority list. Why else would they have assigned it to you? It irked you that they considered you a newbie even though you had experience as a detective before. You push it aside. You had a job to do and you will do it, no matter what resources they give you. You rise. "Alright, show me the witnesses." Welcome Detective to Mantoca, population 689,210. Home to mafia family Cocina, Mantoca is a cesspool of violence. Recently hired by the MPD as a homicide detective, you start your way up the chain working small cases to hopefully arrest the elusive Mr. Cocina himself - assuming you don't get fired and/or killed. The choices that you make will determine what cases you do and what allies - and enemies - you have. So are you ready for an adventure? ---- Hey all! If you are still reading then thank you. This is actually the first interest thread I've put up since the sight has been fixed. I'm usually a bit picky about my RPs as I have limited time and like to do more longer style. First things first:
(yeah, yeah, I know...) Romance Though this is a crime RP, I have no problems having romance involved (in fact romance is part of life so could be interesting). However, if we do romance we get PG-13 and fade to black. I am 26 but I don't want to write/read certain things. However, there might be alluding to adult themes - thus the 18+ requirement. As for pairings - I only do M/F. Though I can (and will) double, I prefer my writing partner be female if we including anything romantic (no offense ;) ). Violence This is a detective RP. There will be violence. I'm not a big fan of gore so it won't be extreme but people do die and we do have a mafia who will not hesitate to do what they want - thus again the 18+ requirement. Language I don't personally use certain words in my vocabulary but I'm not going to make a big deal unless you have the vocabulary of a highschooler working at McDonalds (which I worked for a year - so I know lol). Words should be used in scenarios that call for it and not just because you have no other adjectives to use. Also follow site rules. Grammar/syntax and whatnot: I'm into writing for the fun and joy of it. I am not a grammar Nazi. That said, I will do my best to give you proper sentences, correct spellings, and overall comprehensive posts. We are adults so I do expect some level of clarity (i.e. no text speech or one liners) but I won't jump on you if you have misspelled words, "improper" sentences, etc. I will certainty have them at times and so can fully understand if others do as well. :) (Though - I'm also looking to improve so if you are grammar nazi and can work with my imperfect writing feel free to apply :) )

As aforementioned, you are a detective arriving in a new city similar to Chicago. You are bottom of the barrel so CSI might not always be available (though there might be some - Think 1920s sleuthing with the mob, just more modern with occasional CSI). You'll probably be partnered up with my Main Male Character - though you'll be lead detective due to your experience. I already have a couple cases planned out with an overlying arc. If you have ideas, let me know (love brainstorming) but I'll probably be setting the stage. I love world building and creating characters. You will see a lot of NPCs (and some MCs) throughout the game. We can discuss details on who else you'll play if you are interested). This will be long-term RP (hopefully) but do understand this is my first "detective" RP so I don't know how this will turn out :D

I'm 27, male. I work 40+ hours a week and therefore and fairly busy. I will not be posting everyday - sometimes taking 3-7 days to reply. My posts are usually mid to high casual. In this instance setting the scenes will probably be a lot longer whereas actual dialogue and solving might not be as long. I love mysteries and hidden pasts so expect a lot of various reveals throughout the rp. I also like sad and depressing things so expect some (hopefully) tear-jerking moments as well. Though I am asking for a 18+ partner, most of it will be adult themes - alluded to or violence - but nothing to bad. I will not write smut. If we get to the point where two characters reach that point, we fade to black. OOC - I don't mind it. I like to brainstorm and chat but it doesn't have to be a lot if you don't want.
Still interested? Great! So - I'm only really looking for one individual (again 18+, preferably female) This might not be first come - first serve. We'll probably chat briefly and make sure we both have the correct understanding before making the decision to move forward (or not). Please don't feel bad if it doesn't work out. You are still a wonderful person :) Writing samples are always fun (and I can submit one if you'd like - the opening was too short to count) but it's up to you. I'm looking for someone who enjoys writing, a good mystery, has some great ideas, and is fun. Just because this is a detective RP doesn't mean we can't have fun. :) If you're interested send me a PM and we'll see what comes of it
