I see. I don't want to be rude or anything, but I think that it's trying a little to hard to be darkly poetic. If it were me, I'd change it to [i]"Because you're a beautiful truth, and I am a painful one"[/i]. That way, it doesn't depict life as a lie, and, unless you're one of those really edgy people (and I'm being general here. I don't think you, personally, are edgy.), there's no reason to believe that life is a lie.
