This makes her remember an idea she had about a spin on the will'o'wisps. Something like rather than being magic they were a type of large flying insect which had a bio luminescence which made them from a distance appear like the light of a lantern. Tying into their traditional stories, they would lead unfortunate travelers off paths and back to their nests. 

Just a little idea she remembered.
