Hank believes at his core that there is never a time when it's inappropriate to play games. [b][color=maroon]What Brings You To Cairo:[/color][/b] As an archaeologist of some renown, Hank was his boss's first choice to send to Egypt to get a slice of the rotten mummy pie. Hank was sent with a full team of archaeologists to explore, discover, and most importantly, earn money. Over the course of the year, all but old Hank have either died, become ill and left, or been scared off by superstition or by the other archaeologists' conditions. Hank, however, failed to notice the dwindling of his work group due in part to both his focus on archeology and his schizophrenia. There's also the fact that all the messages his boss sends to call him back somehow don't get delivered...

[b][color=maroon]Life Before You Moved To Cairo:[/color][/b] The voices first came to Hank when he was a kid. He sat at a playground, playing a card game with his friends. While trying to decide on his next move, a voice spoke up, just loud enough to be heard while being indistinct from Hank's own thoughts. The voice gave him an idea, a plan of action, and Hank dutifully followed through - and won. From then on the voices multiplied, always speaking indistinctly from Hank's thoughts, always guiding him along.

Those voices contributed to Hank's interest in Incan history. Integrated as they were with his mind, their interest became his own interest. Soon Hank was carrying a different book about the Incas with him every week. Interest became obsession, and obsession became Hank's life goal - an expedition to explore the Incan ruins.

Shortly after college, Hank's dream came true. He was hired on as a junior archaeologist and sent to Chile to research a large Incan city. Year by year he worked his way up, making a name for himself among those in the field. His dedication to both his job and to games gained him fame, and his strange personality gained him a slight degree of infamy.

[b][color=maroon]Life Since You Moved To Cairo:[/color][/b] As mentioned when explaining why Hank is in Cairo, Hank has been working at the head of the expedition of the temple of Monthu in Armant. He's earned a reputation for his dedication - as well as his [i]eccentricity[/i] - over his time working the desert. He hasn't been able to learn much Arabic due to spending his study time buried in books of Egyptian mythology, though the presence of those who can translate for him eased all difficulties that arose from it.
