He wasn't one to enjoy help, and often found it belittling. He didn't need pity, he wasn't some scared child lost in the street, and even if he was grateful he wouldn't display it very openly. Instead, to subtly show his gratitude, he nodded thankfully to Conner. "I didn't fight, that was an exercise, not a battle. Had it been, one of us would be dead." He said spitefully, looking to the training room with a sense of disdain, and a bit of disgust. "I prefer to stay standing." He then replied to Conner's suggestion of taking a seat. He pulled his hood back over his head, turning to walk away before Conner introduced himself. Nathan turned back to the young man that had helped him, a bit of skepticism and confusion apparent on his face. "Nathan." He responded, a skeptical expression on his face, expecting the hostility he often saw in others to become apparent. Instead however, he was a bit drawn back that the next thing he said was not something mean-spirited, but an inquiry into his well-being. "Yes, I'm fine." He confirmed quizzically, caught off guard by Conner's apparent kindness.
