Daniyal huddled himself tighter in the corner, his eyelids already drooping as they grew heavy. The commotion around him melded together into an amalgamation of unidentifiable noise as his mind grew blank and drifted to sleep. "Rough day?" Daniyal widened his sleepy eyes, his dark iris flicking towards the person who dared call on him. ”It’s been more than just a rough day,” he quipped sarcastically in his head, but not a word escaped his lips. He remained quiet for a moment, unsure whether to speak or not. He looked back at the girl, she looked out of place here. Hell, everyone did. But she seemed a bit too cheery, there was something uncanny about her but Daniyal kept his mouth shut about it. ”I’m fine, thanks for asking.” He wanted to keep his mouth shut after that, to retreat back into his corner and forget everything under his too-thin blanket and hard mattress, but another part of him wanted to press on. Maybe ask a few more questions. Making some friends would help him survive this Hell. he tried to convince himself it was just to stay alive. That they were his tool to be used to escape this place. But deep down he knew, he hungered for a little intention. ”So, what are you in for?” he breathed out in his raspy tone to the girl, trying to be humorous for once, ”Set an orphanage on fire? Made pigs fly?” He almost caught himself smirking as he finally started talking once. Daniyal brushed past his hair that fell in his face, trying to battle away the suffocating feeling of self-consciousness he always felt as he raised his voice for once. Daniyal gripped his own arm, squeezing tight and not backing down. He finally started talking for once.
