....what if the character stayed in their 'spirit' or soul form while waiting for the next incarnation

They could interact with others who have died maybe try to figure out what's going on and then go to their next mortal shell?

Kind of a random idea just thought it was an interesting concept

Edit:could also be very heartbreaking. To discover that they found their star kissed but they died and caused their love to have bad luck...to have to watch that without being able to do anything at all.
