[@Mae] Sounds like a pretty cool idea, just so that the dead don't have too much downtime. Though the ability to influence the world around them or communication with the living could potentially be troublesome. Formulating some uber secret plan, only for someone's ghost to take a peek in my room and blabber it to the living doesn't sound too exciting. I would put some limits on what they would be able to do or say.
