As far as guidelines go, I would like to stay as close to the original as possible. Whether or not the characters get to their OP stages (which I'm sure some will) depends upon where we want the ending to go. If we want to have the kids become the government's big helpers, then they might not reach their OP stages just because of the fact that the government would still want to control them. If we want to do some sort of "thwart the system" kind of ending (which are always fun) then the characters may just have to become OP (Dumbledore's Army style).
