The sun shone bright the day that May left her home on her family's ranch for the busy metropolis of Central City. Ever since she could remember, the young girl had desired to start her journey as a pokemon trainer in this city. However, having only a bus ticket, a backpack, and one lonely pokeball (and no pokemon), even this hopeful thirteen year old knew it was going to be a rough start. Now, baffled by the sheer size and beauty of the city, May stood in awe at her surroundings. She almost forgot - only for a moment - what she had come for. But where should she go? What should she do? She had been mentally preparing for this moment for what felt like forever and the poor girl was panicking on the spot. A small farm girl like her wasn't used to the big city. May looked around her but everyone seemed to be too busy with their own affairs, rushing off to whatever it was they had planned. They didn't have time to help her even if she asked. Determined not to be discouraged by her sudden intimidation, May began to walk in the direction of a trail that a sign told her led to a small forest on the outskirts of town. She wasn't sure what she'd find there but she was an adventurous young girl and was ready to start her journey.
