The sun shone brightly through the leaves over the path from through the woods to the river, and already the sounds of various bird, grass, and even water type Pokemon filled the air. In one of the trees near a lone hiker's position on the path, a Treeko leaps from one branch to another, playfully chasing another as they flitted back and forth. Overhead, he hears a Spearow call out as a small flock head to the fields to search for food and the hiker smiles. Look at all these Pokemon, so full of life. Gives me hope that I just might make something of myself here. On his hip was a single collapsed Pokeball, empty for the time being, but hopefully soon to have an occupant. The hike lasted for several more minutes, with a couple of breaks to rest and drink some water thrown in to make it last. Finally, however, he found his way to the river, where already many water types were gleefully splashing about or sitting on the shore. Tommy, the hiker who'd made the trip found his usual spot and sat down, watching them all. However, after a few minutes, he found his gaze inexplicably drawn to a group of Froakie, all training and playing as the sun made the water glimmer. Perhaps he'd catch one of them for his first Pokemon and forge a powerful bond with it. But it wasn't in his nature to just catch one of them, he'd ask for a volunteer after a few minutes. For the time being, he just wanted to enjoy the sight.
