It certainly doesn’t help that his sharp, brown eyes look all the more menacing when they are the only aspect of his face one can see. But underneath all of his layers is a man that looks anything but frightening. Because even though his long, raven black hair is often a mess and he carries a rather nasty three-lined scar down the right side of his neck, there is an unmistakable gentleness to the man. This comes in part from his easygoing slouch and the small grin that can often be found lighting up his face. Standing at 5’10”, Feir is hardly the tallest of individuals, but he doesn’t look scrawny in the slightest as he is made of completely toned muscle from always being on the move. His face is kept clean shaven at all times, as he cares little for how manly he looks but cares a great deal about the practicality of keeping the stuff out of his way. The various furs that make up his attire are worn almost year round, until the miserable heat of the summer months finally beat out his vast stubbornness. In the vagabond’s mind, the furs keep him from smelling too human in the domain of beasts, but whether it has actually helped him is all too open to discussion. The symbol of his curse begins as a pair of eyes on his right shoulder blade. Initially, the eyes appear as faint lines on his back, but they begin to open and grow darker as he uses more of his powers. Eventually, the eyes will open fully and begin to multiply across his back, but it’s only when they take on a yellow hue, the same eye color as the various creatures of the night that prey on mortals, that the end of his life draws near.
[ ⍚ ] P[sub] E R S O N A L I T Y[/sub] ________________________________________
Feir is the kind of man that is so quiet and unassuming he is almost instantly relegated to the background of any group. This is something that he doesn’t mind in the slightest, as he is actually prone to come down with a mild case of anxiety whenever he becomes the center of attention, as much of his life has been spent in comfortable isolation. However, he is strangely not all that shy if engaged one-on-one, although his soft voice and direct responses often makes it difficult to keep a conversation going with him. But it goes without saying that, if given the choice, the man typically prefers silence. In all things, the black haired wanderer operates with caution as his primary directive. Feir will go over a plan countless times in his head, looking for the smallest of flaws, before he acts. After all, the smallest mistake can cost one their life out in the wilderness. This attitude carries over to his dealings with others, as it takes quite a while for him to open up and trust a person. So while his journeys have taken him far and wide, one can still count the number of close relationships he has made on one hand. Yet, for a man so cautious he is paradoxically also the type that rarely backs down from a challenge. For better or worse, Feir is also one of the most honest and straightforward individuals a person will ever have the misfortune to come across. He’s not the type to hold back what he’s thinking or sugar coat things for others and fully expects the same treatment in kind. In his mind, lies are a tiresome waste of time and would rather cut straight to the heart of the matter rather, even if it means making an ass of himself. In a lot of ways, this makes him the last person one should turn to for comfort, as he is all too prone to saying the worst things at the worst possible times due to his honest nature. However, despite that he still has a side of him that is reminiscent of an aloof older brother. Because while he may be atrocious at comforting people, he has an innate sense to protect others. Case in point, if he were to stumble upon somebody lost in the woods, he may bemoan the inconvenience out loud, but he will always ensure that they return home safe and sound. And although it may be difficult to imagine for such a social recluse, he actually has a rather dry sense of humor that often leaves others puzzling over how serious he is. Which just so happens to be a sight he enjoys immensely. If there is one thing that Feir values about all else, it is the feeling of freedom he gets from wandering the wilds. Because no matter how comforting life within his tribe had been, it always felt too stagnant and sedentary for him. So no matter how long his visits in any given village may be, the one thing you can be certain of is that his presence will is ephemeral. For as long as he has wandered, there has not yet been a force that has been able to drown out the ever present call of woods, with its promises of freedom and countless new sights to be found.
[ ⍚ ] B[sub] I O G R A P H Y[/sub] ________________________________________
Born to the Wolfrahg tribe, Feir had always been one that felt too cramped in the confines of the village. From as far back as he can remember, he had always spent much of his time on the outskirts of the village, as close to the woods as he could get without getting hauled off by one of his elder siblings. But soon enough he was old enough to accompany his father, Marik, on his hunting expeditions, which would further cement his dislike for how small his village felt. And while he was familiar with all of his tribesmen, he found it difficult to truly grow all that close to any of them. A problem that would be constantly compounded by his quiet nature and the frequent hunts he would embark on. At 14, the whelp had proven to be a natural hunter and was permitted to go off on his own into the woods. While his first few solo expeditions went off without any incidents, his good fortune quickly ran out. It was the springtime and although he should have known better, the young adolescent became too enwrapped with tracking his mark that he had strayed too far from the hunting grounds he was familiar with. After the initial bit of panic wore off, he tried to follow his own tracks back, only to encounter a bear still lean from its great sleep. To this day, Feir is not entirely sure how he managed to escape the beast, but he still remembers all to well just how hopelessly lost he had become when it had finally given up. Three months passed before Feir finally stumbled back into the familiar grounds of the Wolfrahg people. A scout thankfully found the boy, malnourished and suffering from a nasty cut on his neck, and quickly brought him back to the village. His family rejoiced at his safe return, having been dangerously close to having given up hope on him ever returning. It took the better portion of two months before the boy was truly healthy again, but it was already clear that he would never quite be the same again. And when a few months later he announced to his father that he intended to leave the village for good, his father merely gave him a sad, knowing smile. It had come as no surprise to the grizzled man, but rather than stopping him he insisted that he learn how to survive out there first. Feir graciously accepted his terms. Since then, he has wandered the land without a clear goal in sight. To him, the freedom of this lifestyle is enough. And even though he occasionally stops in a few villages, he never stays long. Since he’s left, he has visited his tribe only a handful of times, but will often make an appearance should he catch wind of a gathering of clans. At a mere 5’8” he’s also not incredibly intimidating, but those with an observant eye will be able to catch the traces of his godhood. Because no matter how uninterested his eyes look, their unnatural silver sheen gives away his divine origins. And those that have encountered other gods or goddesses will be able to pick up the otherworldly aura he gives off. And since then, he had always been a sort of shepherd for those that have lost their way and are desperate to return home. And eventually, this expanded to aiding the individuals that would later be known as heroes on whatever kind of dire quest they found themselves on. His help took on many forms, from simple advice to outright leading those that could no longer find their way. Of all the divine, he is one of the most human like in appearance, so as not to scare off those he is bound to protect. Naturally, this led to him having far more intimate dealings with mortals than most other gods and goddesses, although it was rare for him to feel all that invested in any of them. At least, that was until he approached a girl lost in a meadow. At least, that’s what it seemed like at the time. Because when he asked if she needed help, she merely smiled and informed him that not all who wander are lost. The notion was alien to him. Every traveler he had encountered had some destination in mind when they had set out, relying on him only when they lost their way. Ledo spoke with her long into the night discussing the nature of her travels, not even realizing until he sought her out several more times that he had found his starkissed. Where he had originally only seen a start and an end to a journey, she helped him notice all of the sights and sounds in between. When the dark gods conspired to curse the starkissed, Ledo was one of the first to fall. This was due in part because he wasn’t all that strong compared to his compatriots and also because his ability to locate those that are lost could prove to be troublesome to their plans. One night he set out to help two travelers that appeared to be hopelessly lost, only to realize far too late that he walked right into a trap. Shamefully, the god was easily overpowered and could only seethe as he realized what they planned to do. But before he could even yell the world around him faded into nothingness, doomed to live on without knowing what he had lost. That was until one evening a certain brown headed bounty hunter got the drop on him, glowing bow drawn and looking for answers. Apparently, skulking around the woods, completely covered from head to toe in furs, made him a suspicious looking individual. So when Alexis was hunting a mark in the area, it was all too natural that she set her sights on the vagabond that had been spooking the locals. Thankfully, she was willing to hear him out before she let her arrows do the talking for her. So the bewildered man did his best to explain who he was and why he acted so suspiciously. His answer must have satisfied the bounty hunter, as the two parted ways without one of them sporting a new arrow wound. Overall, Feir left feeling that while she seemed nice enough, Alexis was definitely not somebody he wanted as an enemy. The sheer determination she had in her eyes while she had her bow trained on him told him that not only did she know how to aim, but she was more than willing to follow through on any threat she made.
B[sub] A H J I[/sub]
"If there were someone to blame for how I distance myself from others, it’d be him." [Enemy]
As children, Feir and Bahiji strayed just a little too far away from the clan gathering one unfortunate night. All was well with the two boys until a large feline set upon them with grisly intent. Bahiji made a run for it as soon as the cat turned his attention on Feir, a fact that the latter has never been able to quite get over. And with a scar as an ever present memento of the occasion, it is hard for him to think of the blonde with anything other than scorn. At their feet laid their mark, brutally savaged by something fierce and hungry. Before either of them had much of a chance to talk, they were attacked by a pack of dire wolves. With no other choice, the two fought together, but there was something about the silver haired man that unnerved Feir, but he was never quite able to put his finger on what it was. Once the last dire wolf was put down, the two split up the pelts and went their own ways, neither of them looking back. In fact, his ill-conceived voyage would have very well been the death of him, if it weren’t for the dark haired beauty that found him and brought him back to her tribe. The woman even helped nurse the fool back to health, but that was where the trouble started. Despite himself, Feir was starting to fall for the proud woman with a frighteningly sharp mind. And while neither said it out loud, Feir suspected that Narcissa not only knew how he felt, but was also beginning to feel the same way about him. Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time until he learned that she was actually the Karill chieftain’s daughter, which in turn made her the betrothed to the heir of his clan, Rimguage. Not wanting to cause problems for either clan, Feir took off as soon as he had recovered, leaving without a word of goodbye to Narcissa as he didn’t trust himself to not make a fool of himself. While they had only known each other for a few short weeks, there is a lingering attraction between the two. And every now and then, when the night is dry and the stars shine just right, Feir finds himself wondering, ’What if?’
K [sub] E N Z I E[/sub] M [sub]O R A I T I S[/sub]
"Not only is he probably the only person I have met that is quieter than me, he is also one of the kindest souls you will ever come across." [Friends]
There are precious few people that Feir will seek out for company, but when it comes to Kenzie, who he considers his kindred spirit, he will gladly make an exception. The two of them together is quite the sight for those that know them, as the two outrageously reserved individuals actually come out of their shells for a bit when the other is around. The changes in Feir’s behavior are subtle and often unnoticed by most, but he values Kenzie highly and would go to great lengths to help his friend. The two recluses met at a clan gathering with a pair of stiff introductions, which left Feir relatively unimpressed with the purple haired man. But when Feir started exploring the Abaneki lands a few months down the road, he ran into Kenzie a few more times out in the wilderness. The similarities the two shared became rather clear after their second encounter, as they both had a deep respect for nature and often preferred its company to other humans, and in time their casual greetings became full on conversations. Perhaps it was only natural that the two quickly became such fast friends.
