There is no need to tear away the darkness, as it itself is torn away. Mephiles awakens once more to the ouside world, only to witness Vanitas, Ventus, and Roxas standing over the corpse of the old man who had held the Darkness. They had slain it's host, and in his head, Mephiles can hear a lingering shout of anger at the sudden loss of the host, as the Darkness came crashing down to the planet, seeking the one who had harmed it.
