The Wedding
collaboration with [@dabombjk][@caits] Kyle was in his room, brushing himself with his hands and trying to prepare himself the best way he could. The wedding was soon, and it was being held in front of the main building. There was to be food, drink, and as much enthusiasm as everyone could muster. While Obsidian was a joyful tribe, they rarely held parties. This wedding was something everyone was going to try to make memorable. Kyle looked himself over. He was wearing a black dress shirt and vest, with a black tie to match. He wore black dress pants but he wore his cleanest boots. Kyle pushed back his hair nervously. It hadnt helped that before he had gotten dressed he had gone to try to talk his close friends. Mabel had already started drinking, so she was of no help in calming his nerves. He had found Tokala with Alexis, which was a suprise to him. He had no idea that they....well.....were an item. He had found them mid kiss, with most of their clothing off. While he would have liked to have made a flashy entrance on any other day, today was not like any other day. So Kyle had went back to his room, to focus. He sat on his bed but absolutley unfocused. Ranna finished in the shower and came out wrapped in a towel with a large comb in her hand. Seeing Kyle dressed she smiled but noticed he was just a little bit off. She sat on the bed near him. "Are you ok? Have you changed your mind about getting married?" She mentally hoped this was not the case but readied herself just in case. She worked the comb through her long hair and awaited his response. Kyle chuckled slightly and looked at Ranna. "Of course not babe, I am just.....anxious." Kyle kissed Ranna on the cheek. "Sorry for not leaving yet, I just had to grab a few things. I will get out of your hair." Kyle got up to leave. Ranna pulled him to her for just a moment. "He is right here. He is here with you in spirit." She smiled a little sadly knowing that he was missing his friend. She hugged him and said. "I'll see you soon, love." Kyle hugged Ranna, and nearly teared up. He was not prone to crying, but he was missing his friend. He was suppose to have his best friend be his best man, but now.........he was not sure what to do.Kyle got up and walked out of his room and examined how the wedding decorations were proceeding. The guards had placed an altar in front of the main buidling, surrounded by a ring of flowers. Small colorful stones were laid carefully, placed in lines to signal where people would stand for the ceremony. Food and drink was placed all around on tables surrounding the ceremony area. After Kyle was given status reports on the remaining guards who were on patrol around the tribe, Kyle tried his best to stay clean. As he passed people, they congratulated him, and cheered him. Kyle went to the near back of the tribe where the elders lived, and knocked softly on their door. An elderly asian man opened the door and embraced Kyle warmly. He offered Kyle a seat inside, at a table where other elders sat at. Kyle joined them and drank the refreshment they offered him. Kyle asked them their opinion of how he was doing, and any advice they had for him. Kyle did this quite often. It was only moments after Kyle left that the ladies brought dresses for the bride to try and choose from. Ranna chose a close fitting lacy white dress that was trimmed in a white rose pattern. It fit her slender waist perfectly. Her long hair was twirled up and had a falling effect that made it look elegant and whimsical at the same time. Zach knew they would be getting ready to start so he went back to the library to get his date. He had to walk the Princess down the aisle so he was dressed up too. Truth be told he was as excited for himself as he was the princess. Her wedding Kyle meant he got to stay too. He entered the library and this time he made sure to let her know he was there so she didn't get startled. "Niesha are you ready to go? The wedding will be starting in just a few moments." Niesha was just putting the books away she had been reading, setting them behind a counter so she could continue to read them later when Zach called out. Niesha looked over and there may have been the barest hint of a smile. She assumed he had called out to not startle her again, and she found it a tad amusing. Yet it was gone so quick, and instead there was a worried expression. Zach seemed so dressed up, and she wasn't exactly dressed that well. "Oh" she reached up, thinking maybe she could at least do something with her hair, "I should have dressed in better clothes...but I'm ready" Zach smiled at her and offered his arm to her, "I think you look perfect. I feel overdressed but as I have to give the princess away I kinda have to be. Most will be dressed in everyday clothing so I wouldn't worry. You will undoubtedly outshine them all." That did nothing to calm the sudden nerves Niesha felt. She had never done anything like this before, and she felt like she stood on shaky ground. No one has even shown interest in her, and suddenly there was Zach. "Okay" she said, taking his arm, "I've never been to a wedding before, so I just chose my best clothes...but let's go" Zach walked Niesha to the front of the main building and he seated her up front where he would be shortly. After checking on the holy man and everything else he looked around for Kyle. Kyle sat with his tribes elders, listening to them carefully. He had many doubts, and much pain in his mind, and while usually coming to the elders would bring him some form of peace nothing of the sort happened this visit. They warned him of the error in this marriage, and how foolish he was being. The leader of Obisidian, in their minds, should not allow a pretty face and the loss of someone close to him make him act out of emotion. After listening to the elders babble, Kyle politely excused himself. Kyle walked back to where the ceremony was being held, and walked to the very back. He examined everyone, how they were acting, how much they were drinking, the laughter. Kyle tried his best to smile, and chuckled. He was being foolish. Kyle walked forward, surprising everyone who did not know he was there yet, and walked to the right of the altar. Kyle saw Zach, and their new librarian and motioned for them to come over to him. Zach went up to Kyle. He was still holding Niesha's hand. "Is everything okay Kyle? Are you ready for me to go get Ranna?" Kyle shook his head. "Nah make her wait. Lets make her wait until the moon comes out, and have everyone be naked to suprise her. Then we commence a blood sacrifice to the creator, and start a harem that will make the heavens shake." Zach looked at Kyle and wondered how much he had been drinking. He turned to Niesha and asked her if she could wait for him in seating. "Did someone slip you some loco weed or a bad batch of liquor? What the hell are you talking about?" Kyle laughed softly. He put his hand on Zachs shoulder. "Dude im kidding. Ranna isnt really the harem type anyways. Lets get this show on the road already." Zach looked up thanking whatever god might be watching as he turned and went to go get Ranna. He knocked on the door and a couple of the ladies came out and Zach went in and he didn't know what to say when she turned around. Ranna was stunning. Her gown fitted her as if it had been made for her. It was her. Zach hadn't even realized he had been holding his breath til she asked, "Well? How do I look? Do you think Kyle will like it?" Zach smiled at her. "If he doesn't marry you looking like that I will." Ranna blushed and playfully punched him in the arm and hugged him. "Okay let's go." She happily took Zach's arm and let him lead her to the alter. Along the way there were many admiring looks from both men and women. Even the messenger smiled on his way out of town as he caught sight of her. When Ranna turned onto the walk where Kyle could see her she blushed but her eyes never wavered or left his. Zach stood next to her until the holy man asked him to give her to the groom. Zach dutifully gave his princess over to her soon to be husband and then he went to sit next to Niesha. Kyle took in an eyeful of Ranna, and nearly lost his breath. She was more than stunning, no words in any language could adequately describe how amazing Ranna looked. Kyle took Ranna's hands in his own and poured into her eyes. "Ranna...you look amazing," Kyle said softly to Ranna. Kyle was shushed by the holy man, who began the wedding ceremony. Ranna barely caught some of the words and she followed her cues and recited her vows but she was so caught up in Kyle's eyes that all she cared about was the you are man and wife part.' As soon as the holy man said those words Kyle and Ranna were inseparable. There was a lot of laughter and congratulations. As soon as the final words were spoken, and it was decreed they were husband and wife, Kyle held Ranna in his arms, kissed her, and just in general tried to connect with her on a physical level as much as possible. He felt such pride and love at the inseparable bond he now had with Ranna, all of his other problems seemed to float away. During the song and dance, Kyle took a small break and dragged Ranna off to the side, laughing. "So Mrs. Hishamie, how are you liking the festivities? When Obsidian's party we party hard." Ranna smiled, "I see that. Mrs. Hishamie has a nice ring to it." She looked into his eyes and leaned in and said, "I love you my husband." She felt so close to him and just over his shoulder she spied something that she thought was a long time coming. "Babe look at Zach." Zach was dancing with Niesha. He looked like he was having a good time for once. Ranna smiled and nodded at him when he glanced up and saw her. Kyle looked at Zach and the librarian. He realized he did not even know her name. He felt like an ass when he realized this. Maybe her name was....Kalinda? Kyle turned to Ranna and laughed softly. He was glad though that Zach was enjoying himself. He knew Zach still had feelings for Ranna, so maybe library book over there could get him to check out of the Ranna section. Kyle watched Zach, Library book, and his tribe laugh and enjoy themselves. This could not be a better day. Niesha had absolutely no idea how she had gone from being in the library, to witnesses a wedding ceremony and now dancing of all things. She knew she was a hopeless dancer, so she had no idea how she had even agreed to it. She just didn't know how to place her feet, or what to do, and she probably looked foolish. She was really surprised she hadn't fallen on her butt yet. "This is dangerous, you know. I could fall and take who knows how many people out." Zach chuckled at her, "You are in no danger milady. I had to dance with Ranna more times than I can count. Just follow my lead and you will look like we are gliding." It really did look like that. He even lifted her off of the ground on some of the spins. He chuckled at her excitement. Niesha still couldn't help but worry about her clumsiness, but it seemed that Zach wouldn't let her fall. She was startled as he lifted her, and gave a small, surprised sound the first time. She soon expected them, but it was still shocking. Surprising herself, she gave a laugh, and then seemed shocked that such a sound would come from her. "Oh. Um." She didn't know what to say, sure she was behaving weird. Ranna watched Zach and Niesha for a few more moments until Kyle stole her attention away. She didn't mind at all. He was the one person she could look at happily for the rest of her life. She turned and kissed him deeply before anyone could drag him off. Kyle had watched until he could watch no more, and when he turned his attention back to Ranna, she was the most beautiful women he had ever laid eyes on. Kyle kissed Ranna back deeply, and held her closely to him. Kyle suddenly stood up and picked up Ranna, bride in grooms arms style, and nearly ran back to their room. Kyle could barely get the door closed before he started to lose himself with Ranna. Zach watched as Kyle jumped up and ran off carrying his much surprised and somewhat embarrassed bride back to their room. Zach and most of the others there laughed really hard at his enthusiasm. Zach was still holding Niesha's hand. He stood and pulled her to her feet and he gently tugged her to come with him. The moon had risen and it was a beautiful evening. He pulled her towards the lake. The moon was shining on it and he loved that. He stood behind Niesha and wrapped his arms loosely around her looking at the lights in the sky. Niesha found herself surprisingly comfortable, which made her worry. She rarely was comfortable with anyone, thats why she hid in the library as much as she could. Which was suddenly seeming like a bad idea, becoming the new librarian. She ended up talking with a lot of people. Looking up at the moon, as if she could find the answer to her questions there. After a minute, she said softly "There's a book in the library, that says the stars are so far away, their light a great distance, just to brighten up the sky at night. It kind of makes anything seem possible, doesn't it?" Zach smiled to himself in the dark he nodded and said, "I think just about anything is possible. Don't you?" Zach was really enjoying her company. He really liked her sense of humor. Zach walked her the rest of the way back to the library. "Where are you living now?" "Mostly I live in the library, it's better then my place, but I have a little place nearby" Niesha said softly, "It's not far. Thank you, for taking me out, and...well, it was fun" She said, suddenly feeling awkward, not sure what to do or say now. Zach could tell she felt a little awkward and he decided to ask her something. "Niesha, may I kiss you goodnight?" Surprised at the question, Niesha had absolutely no idea how to answer. Maybe it wasn't something you could answer, but merely...merely something you wanted. How you felt. And she was overthinking. She had to wonder if there was smoke coming out her ears, as her brain went into overdrive. She very nearly yelled at her brain to shut up. After what seemed like an eternity to her, she gave a nod, not trusting her voice. Zach watched her intently and he could see the second her brain went crazy. At her slight nod he picked her up and leaned into the wall with her and he kissed her til she couldn't think. When he pulled back he was a bit surprised at the response that he had gotten from her. He wanted to kiss her again but he waited to see into her eyes. A little dazed at the effectiveness of the kiss, Niesha drew in a deep shaky breath, sure she would have slid down the wall if Zach hadn't a hold on her. She looked to him, sure her cheeks were bright red, yet she seemed unable to look away. "wow" Zach hated to tear himself away but he knew he must or they both might regret it later. "That's how I'd describe it." He sighed and hugged her to him and kissed her on the lips softly and set her on her feet. Then he watched her go into the library and he walked back to the lake and lay on the grass to watch the moon. [@Ashevelendar][@blackpanther]
