Name: Emma Frost Age: 27 Alias: N/A Appearance: Abilities: An Alpha-level mutant, Emma Frost would be considered an equal to, if only marginally weaker, a telepath than Charles Xavier were he still alive, and potentially greater than Jean Grey herself (although she lacks any telekinetic ability beyond latent ability which triggers during great emotional stress). Despite potentially being weaker than the two more famous X-men, Emma possess a superhuman level of control over her telepathy, able manipulate others as little more than puppets, even being able to mask her influence from other telepaths. Individuals with no telepathic defence can be disabled in seconds, while even Xavier and Jean combined would think twice before rushing into a mental duel with the woman (not to say she'd have much of a chance of winning, but she could certainly leave them mentally exhausted). A more recent discovery is her ability to transform into organic diamond, turning her into a self contained unit, immune to the downsides of biological processes and possessing superhuman strength, endurance and stamina. Equally she becomes immune to all telepathic attacks, or even any attempts to read her thoughts, at the expense of being unable to use her own telepathy. While in the diamond form, Emma becomes emotionally cold (completely dead to any emotion if she spends more than a few hours in the form) thus she may often use it simply to think straight. Like normal diamond, Emma can shatter if struck on a 'flaw' although as long as she can be put 'back together' mostly, or remain within close proximity of her shards, she can reform (over a few hours if not pieced together, immediately if done so). Personality: Emma Frost has always lived in comfort, at least physically, although at great emotional cost to herself. A father with no care for his children beyond forging a legacy and a substance-abusing mother, despite the comforts of her life, Emma is well adapted to trust and depend on no one but herself. Despite her hereditary wealth, her current status is self-made, something she is fiercely proud of, only accepting her father's money after his death, and her own fortune made. Emma is not, however, emotionally stunted, she is capable, perhaps even more so due to her telepathy, of great spikes of rage, passion or affection, having personally protected many enclaves of lesser mutants in her time, despite the outwards appearance of a selfish socialite (see Iron Man for similarity) Perhaps the side of her personality which jars the most with her fellow 'good' mutants is her view on humanity, even other mutants with a lack of telepathic defence. Despite having formed deep emotional bonds with many, as a collective Frost sees the human masses as little more than tools to her whim, able to manipulate and coerce them to build a better future for mutantkind. While not actively seeking the demise or replacement of humanity as the Brotherhood continue to do, there seems much doubt as to any upward limit she would place on the number of humans she would sacrifice to protect a single mutant life, assuming the question is referring to humans and mutants she was not acquainted with. Bio: Emma Grace Frost was the second daughter and third child (One older brother, one younger sister) of Winston and Hazel Frost, one of many heirs to a powerful family stemming from European Merchants arriving at the very dawn of colonial America. Unknown to her family, all three Frost daughters were mutants, although the X-gene manifested less harshly in the other two sisters. Throughout school, Emma would be crippled with migraines, in part leading to consistently low grades and social ineptitude during her time at the Snow Valley School for Girls. As the migraines subsided, her powers manifested, she began to hear the thoughts of classmates, and then focused it, using the power to excel in all aspects of school life, in the course of her last three years at the school becoming both a honour roll student and the Queen Bee of a large 'friend' group. Her world broke down (over-dramatic) when her elder sister revealed to their father the illegal relationship she had begun with her favourite teacher, resulting in him being fired and Emma spending her last year of High School at a new school, one that she soon 'ruled' as she had the other. Her father felt university was unnecessary for his daughters, only footing the bill for her brother, Christian, who Emma was close to, to study at Harvard. Emma response to this was to fake a hostage situation, take her father's money (who only paid after Emma managed to make the ransom become a media event), take the money and disappear. Emma Robinson enrolled at Empire State University, the specifics of her new identity remain an unknown. During her time at the university, a man who she truly cared for turned on her when her mutation was revealed due to the actions of the Brotherhood, solidifying her negative views towards most of humanity. During this event the Brotherhood kidnapped Emma and attempted to 'install' her into Cerebro and wipe out humanity. Evidently their plan failed, although this brought Emma into contact with the X-men for the first time and while she continued to communicate with Xavier, she refused to join the school and the ranks of their 'superhero' squad, instead choosing to focus on building her new project 'The Frost Foundation,' having revealed her true lineage once more, although refusing to accept the mantle of her father's heir, after her brother had been interred in a mental health facility for severe depression and her sisters had proven...overly reckless (details remain a family secret). Eventually she accepted her father's money and estate, but after the man had died, the stress of a substance-abusing wife finally working through to the cold heart of Mr Frost (although, his own drinking problem didn't help, it developed due to the former). During her time as the head of the Frost Foundation, Frost has been involved, indirectly, in many global events. It is rumoured Stark has her on speed dial and she had monthly dinners with Nick Fury. Her name was a must have feature on any high society event, at least, until she publicly revealed her nature as a mutant, stating that unlike many in the cruel world in which they lived, she would no longer have to hide behind a façade of a weaker self, taking on the mantle of Homo Superior. She remains a socialite, if a more controversial one. Post-Genosha, Emma found further purpose among the X-Tinction team, radical enough to be willing to act decisively, without giving into the corruption of the Brotherhood, even if she was a more hardline member of the team, clashing with, if never actively rebelling against, their leader Cyclops. Despite the other members of the team hardly being scroungers, the Frost Foundation largely foots the bill for the team, much in the same way Stark Industries provides for the Avengers, Emma even jokingly offering to 'chip bits of herself off' to afford further equipment for the team, in the event she ever ran out of money to provide, which seems unlikely.
