Atarin would prefer to wear his mercenary battle armour from his early career, a suit mainly built for utility and with hardpoint attachments all over to give him a mechanical edge.

He is an enforcer at heart, he instils discipline trough fear of what his title means and it has made him appear snobbish and self-righteous to most. They also know however that he will do anything within his power to get things done and those who he doesn’t put in immediate danger can appreciate that. His conviction to stick with the Empire stems from his rejection of Chiss isolationism, though the downfall of the Empire was a heavy blow for his argument. It goes against Atarin’s sense of honour now however to abandon his argument, even though he beliefs the Empire’s days numbered.
His education on Csilla and his subsequent mercenary and military life has learned him to view everything in a cost and benefit picture with himself and his honour at the core of any such calculation. Though he refrains from underestimating enemies he has a disdain for most opposing him and ordering him around. A disdain he funnels into the ambition to rise to the top and keep the Empire alive.

[b][color=0072bc]The Reason You Chose The Side You Did:[/color][/b]As a youth Atarin had heated discussions about Chiss isolationism, always pleading for them to involve themselves into galactic affairs. He was often rebuked with the argument about the bureaucracy of the large scale systems. Discussions he started ‘winning’(in his own mind) more often as Palpatine received emergency powers during the Clone Wars. Often were there the warnings of tyranny and oppression but Atarin called it order. He joined the Republic Military, and later the Empire because he was sick of the arguments of what he perceived as hypocrites, even though their insistence on ‘why don’t you join them then’ was taken at heart.
[b][color=0072bc]History:[/color][/b] Atarin grew up in the Nuruodo Family in Chiss society. This meant a military upbringing from a young age and in Atarin’s case that was amongst the ‘hawks’ of society. Those pleading for breaking the isolationism and taking a more active, or pro-active role in Galactic politics. Atarin took this to heart and was a fervent supporter of breaking with the Chiss isolationist past. As written above his support mainly displayed in discussions but for Atarin this wasn’t enough, especially as the Republic was coursing towards conflict with the Seperatists. He viewed it as a time to put the Chiss on the galactic charts by making use of the temporary lack of a real Republic army and indebting the Republic to the Chiss for the use of their military. This idea never gained enough support however as only a minority was for breaking isolation and the ‘hawks’ were internally divided between supporting the Republic or separatist.
A small group of Chiss, Atarin amongst them no longer wanted to sit idle and joined together in a mercenary company fighting for the Republic as auxiliary. In this time Atarin learned of the difference between all the theory he was thought during his education and hunts and a real war. Which only offered the choice between evil and lesser evil. Fighting on several planets gained him a position within the Republic navy as the conflict dragged on.
The transfer to the Empire affected Atarin little. His position in the navy was unchanged, though a newfound racism that favoured the humans started working against him. He was skipped over for promotion multiple times but in retrospect this kept him clear of places like the Death Star or the Executor. After the destruction of the second Death Star Atarin got commissioned to the Vindicator as a commander for its Stormtrooper detachments.
