That's what I usually do too. I'm not clever enough to think of something elaborate. Thing is, most of the time I get nervous and begin stumbling over my words and basically come off as a complete dweeb. So usually my attempts end in the girl saying, "Oh I don't really like you in that way." There's a reason why I'm 19 and have still only ever had one girlfriend in a long distance relationship that only lasted 5 months and it isn't from a lack of trying or trying too hard.
