The larger skeletons of the men and mer beyond the staircase only made the place more ominous. Fendros' eyes lingered on them as they passed. It was hard to tell from their positions what killed them. "It's almost as if there was a battle here," Fendros remarked. "But they've either been picked clean or it was something else." He looked ahead again. "I'm beginning to hope it's the former. There has to be something deterring the Falmer." Sabine contributed to the conjecture. "Maybe they tried settling here like us." Fendros hummed. "I don't know. There might be more evidence either way further in."
