The creature - which wasn't a demon at all, although its appearance was a quite close match for common imaginations of one - didn't manage to entirely dodge the tentacle which had suddenly emanated from Bette. It was slammed to the ground, but then it had the opportunity to score a decent hit on Xavier who seemed not to be in so much control of his big sword. It bit into his armored leg, its teeth apparently not becoming damaged by the metal and started to move its head around violently with the mute still caught in the creature's iron bite.
