[@Forett] whaywhay genre? I'm currently reading Christopher Stasheff and I would highly recommend his Wizard in Rhyme series, starting with Her Majesty's Wizard. What else...if you like dragons and the Vulcans from Star Trek, Seraphina is an instersting interpretation. Scifi, The Ship Who Sang and ...I ink it's Crystal Singer? Both by Anne McCaffrey, both the start of a series. The misenchanted sword is good, too -- that's fantasy again. The Golem and the Djinni is a good one too. And Gordon R Dickson's Dragon Knit series. Raymond E Feist wrote a bunch of books, starting with Wizard (or Wizard: apprentice, depending on edition).
