As he watched the verbal altercation between the trainers, Shadow narrowed his eyes but didn't speak. His hands tightened slightly for a brief moment as his eyes followed the white haired boy right up until Alexis spoke to him again, asking him about himself. He blinked at the question as he tried to form a response.

He heard movement to his side and his sharp eyes caught shape of another trainer, female, sneaking though the tall grass in an attempt to get passed the group before his eyes flicked back to Jaden and Vix walking ahead, or stumbling in the Vulpix's case. The faint mimicry of a smile graced his face at the display before he schooled his features. He continued on in silence until the group was confronted by a worrying sight. 5 thug-like trainers were surrounding a young boy and his pokemon. As the man he had pinned as the leader spoke, a small frown made it's way onto his face. The frown deepened as Jaden tossed a rock at the man, before it fell back into his neutral expression.

After his short speech, Vix was quick to jump to his aid in her own brash and hot-headed way. Shadow, nodding at Alexis's words he step forwards, in line with Vix, and entered a fighting stance. From behind, he heard another trainer call upon 'Corina' and sure enough, an Eevee stepped into the line. He glanced over to the two girls and spoke to them both for the first time.
