Below the point humans have reached, far below earths surface lies a vast city where beings that seem to almost steal human physiology wander around as if pressure meant nothing. Metal creatures, old as the planet, live safely here within the walls of a place known as Ferrias. These people known as the Aranams resemble humans and can even think as complexly as they can. Their skin resembles metal such as Iron or Cobalt, the metals they are made of. However, the only reason these people can live in such peace in a thriving underground city is because of two of their own. Who selflessly exiled themselves to the border of the land they live on. Two people who accepted that they would be hated by the people they protected. They draw their blades and defend Ferrias at it's borders from other creatures who live in the vast ocean of magma these two patrol. These creatures, known as forge-demons, crave the bodies of the land dwelling Aranams, some take their bodies and 'wear' them as their own, some try to eat them while most simply beat them into submission for the thrill of it, only to drag their trophies into the magma far below them to do who knows what. These two Aranams have spent ages fending their city off from the forge-demons, they are known as Corrundos and Tariks. Corrundos, the swift and calculating Aranam wielding two swords unlike anything else, these swords seem to be simple single edges blades but have small firearm barrels on one end, something scarcely seen in Ferrias. And Tariks, the titan of the metal world, the violent but respectful Aranam wielding a large slab of sharpened metal referred to as a Pendulum sword. These two Aranams have spent most of their lives together and have bonded together like brothers. Every one both respects them yet fears them much more, to them, such strength to defeat such things makes them unpredictable, "If they could stop so many of them, what else can they do?" Was more than common talk in Ferrias. Yet they owe their very lives to them, other wise they'd likely be at the bottom of a magma pool, being chewed in half by the same creatures Corrundos and Tarkis deal with.

All was quiet underground, The day was long, but it has ended. Corrundos and Tariks began the walk home after ending who knows how many Forge-demons, nothing new there. All the two wanted was to take a break at home, away from the dangerous oceans of magma. Their swords blazing from slashing back and forth through the creatures from beneath those oceans. Remind me again Cor, why we can't just find a body of water and lead the Demons there and not have to worry about them ourselves? The larger one complained before swinging the pendulum sword over his shoulder like an axe. "Because if we did than the water would turn to steam and we'd have to find more water, giving us more work to do. And even if we made a dam they'd find a way around it and probably right into Ferrias. Did that cross your mind Tariks?" The one called Corrundos snapped back, annoyed at Tarkis' complaint. No not really, woops. Not the best at thinking on my feet, otherwise we wouldn't need you. Corrundos just shrugged at the giants remark. At least he got that right. " Couldn't agree more you giant beast." Corrundos remarked as Tariks simply laughed and shoved Corrundos down. I knew we were 'down in the dirt' but you don't have to embrace it literally! Corrundos just groaned and thought of shoving him down as well, but then denied the attempt as trying to move someone like Tariks was like trying to move the walls. "Damn you Tariks, you're good for swinging that monster around bu-" Corrundos stopped when he saw something in the corner of his eye. A bright orange and red glow from what seemed like an Aranam doubled over against the cold stone walls, if he listened he could hear raspy, hastened breathing. Corrundos turned his head and confirmed his suspicion, more Forge demons. Corrundos took the sight in, the demons had taken yet another. When ever the demons found their prey, they would do a number of things with them, some knawed at their bodies, some used them as ragdolls, some, like the one in front of Corrundos, chose to wear their victims and terrorize the people. It isn't a pretty scene either, the eyes are blackened and seem to bleed magma, the limbs leak the stuff just as much, and the body is broken at several areas. The best for such a sight would be to put the victim out of their misery. "Look out, possessed." Corrundos told Tariks after getting to his feet and withdrawing two swords resembling Katanas. This one seem familiar? Tariks asked as he dropped his massive sword off of his shoulder into a readied stance. "Nope" Corrundos spoke as the abomination in front of them took note of the two. The monster let out an echoing scream of rage before leaping at Tariks, who seemed undaunted, Tariks swung his mountain of a blade at the monsters head. The demon was knocked a few feet away into a wall, a loud ringing sound could be hear as a cloud of sparks and smoke were let out from parts of the creature, which stood back up before falling to it's knees. I'm sorry. Tariks said quietly before walking over to the creature to finish it off. Forgive me, it's not your fau- the monster lunged at Tariks and managed to knock him off of his feet. "Oh no you don't..." Corrundos aimed his sword at the monster like a gun and pulled the trigger above his fingers, a steel bolt rocketed out and hit the creature in the top of the head. Causing it to go limp and fall off of Tariks. "You left us no choice. We're sorry." Corrundos whispered as he sheathed his blade. Tariks jumped up and looked at the miserable thing. The worst thing is that sometimes, the person can still feel the burning. "Yeah, I know," Corrundos told Tariks as they both continued on. Eventually reaching home. Hey, Cor? "Yeah Tariks?" Why do you think the Forge demons do what the do to us? "You mean attack us? Posses us and terrorize us?" Yeah. "...I don't know, we might not ever." Maybe one day we'll know. "...It's probably best we don't.
