17 years later. May 13'th. 11:00 Am.
Conrad ran through the woods, nearly out of breath and sweating. His flowing dark hair being blown backwards as he ran, he navigated his way with precision and agility. He brushed past trees and leaped over roots and stumps. While he was sweaty, and panting by now, his outfit had remained intact. He wore a grey silk dress shirt with no collar, and a black vest with black gloves. He wore grey leather pants and black boots. Conrad had around his shoulder his bow and a quiver of arrows on the backside of his belt. A small silver and gray dagger hung from his hip. "Alexandra.......Alexandra,"Conrad shouted with his hands cupped over his mouth, to amplify his voice. He had been with her all morning, since she had awoken from her slumbers. All morning she had spoken of the forest, and how she admired its beauty. She had spoken of how the sun shined through the trees, and hit the leaves at just the right angle. She had ranted about the forests beauty all morning, until Conrad had no choice but to escort her through the forest. It was not that she was forbidden, but she did have the habit of sneaking off. It had gotten to the point where she had to be given scheduled walks, but with a limited distance and speed. Ever since her position had changed, she had been slowly crushed by the weight of her responsibility. Conrad had tried to ease her pain as much as possible, but to no avail. He felt as if they had somewhat grown apart. Conrad remembered few moments in his and her life, how they basically grown up together. He thought back to the first time he had saved her life, how terrified she had been and how close she had been to him. He had stabbed a man for her, one who had intended harm to her. There was of course a feast, and endless thanks, and so much praise but all of that was just wind against his face at the time. He was a kid. The one thing that stuck to him that day was the smile he recieved from Alexandra. He remembered his promise to her, to be with her forever. "Alexandra Please! Together Forever Right?"Conrad shouted again into the wind. It may have been the first time he had saved her life, but it had not been the last. Over the years there had been dozens of attempts on her life. Almost all of them thwarted by Conrad himself. Amusingly, he had been more amused as a child for those moments. Conrad, even as a child, had keen eyes. Even when he was hurt in the process, giving him scars, he was never more excited. While in return Alexandra had been quite the opposite. Conrad stopped when he heard a shuffling of leaves. He smiled to himself. Alright, if she wanted to play this game he would play. He had learned many skills growing up in the castle. Conrad checked the ground, identifying foot prints. Then he examined the branches and leaves. He noticed a few rabbits had gone through here, and maybe a deer. Then he found the right set of tracks. He quickly followed them. [@wick]
