[@Mae]I should have explained that better. When she cuts the thread, it doesn't make them drop dead, they'll just be fated to die (accident, illness, etc) after the last event that has been woven in their thread. The death doesn't happen right away, it can happen some time in the  future, maybe even after several years. 

Also, i've decided that Asteria won't have access to the loom chamber in her mortal shell thus locking out all her last-tier abilities.
