The Doctor mentioned the perils of staying behind. "I know what happens in the future, there's no way I wanna be there when things get even worse." She huffed a little. Though Rose figured the Doctor, either one, would probably take her back home and that would be that. The other one though, the one she was with now seemed rearing to go anywhere, as if he had been fed lots of candy and sweets. She smiled a little, envious of his bright outlook. Things around Hogwarts lately, were anything but bright. She looked up to the Doctor, "Yeah let's get out of here." She finally replied. Even if it was just a small trip, she was itching to get away from it all. The man sprang into action, saying what he could show her, which was all beyond anything she could ever imagine. He promised her anything as well as everything. She smiled a little more and they were off. Having forgotten to actually hang on, she found herself stumbling as the TARDIS took them far away, which for now, may do some good with some paradox closing in on them. The Doctor then said they could get out of the stuffy hall and get a real meal. "It's a date then-I mean plan." She said, not sure why that had been her automatic response. It seemed he didn't take notice to her slip up as they whizzed about the vortex, being taken millions of light years away from the wizarding school where Harry Potter resided. They were taken to a nice place to get a bite to eat, which they got to go so they could eat elsewhere. They then headed off yet again and this time it was to the middle of space itself. She took hold of his hand as he led her away from the controls toward the door of the TARDIS. "Wow." She smiled as it was then revealed, a glistening star and Earth down below in the distance. Rose saw the star forming, gravity and other particles taking on their own cosmic role in the sky of outer space. "This is way more than amazin'!" She laughed. Looking to the Doctor, she couldn't help but feel her face light up. "It's...well...fantastic!" She laughed and then moved to take a seat in the doorway, letting her legs dangle into space down below the time and space machine. The Doctor took a seat beside her and she looked out into the abyss. It was incredible. When she first encountered the Doctor back home, the other one, he had mentioned such sights but now she was seeing it. She wasn't in danger. Instead, she was sitting beside someone else who actually listened to her and Rose was thrilled beyond belief. She had been dealing with so much drama that she didn't have much time to just reflect on everything. "Thanks, this is so cool. I mean really cool." Proper words seemed to fail her at the present. It was good to just clear her head and not worry about the world ending. "I think I needed to get out of there, one more second and I might have tried to beat the shit out of Draco again." Sadly he wasn't around to be her punching bag. "Thank you, Doctor." She said, getting back to what mattered. "This is perfect." She said and reached out into the enchanting collage of colors and fragments. If only she could touch it. - - - There was a lull in the atmosphere before the Doctor responded to her suggestion. He was quick to act on it. He meant something about luxury but she didn't think about fancy places or anything. Even someplace simple but out of the way would suit her just fine. She wanted them to feel at ease. She just didn't want any sort of fuss, she was a simple girl who didn't need a lot of flash or flair. "O-okay." She took his hand and he swept them off, down the stairs of the large pillar down into the real part of the castle. They then hurried along toward the main exit. No one was around to stop or question them and even if someone had, they probably would have been able to brush any curious people off. Luna looked to the Doctor, glad to see him in better spirits but a little concerned about where he was taking her. Yes, she trusted him but she didn't want anything too extravagant. While she pondered on what to say, they plowed through the woods until they reached the TARDIS. With a brisk snap of his fingers, it opened and he led them inside. He finally stopped pulling her along and focused on the console. She smiled a little and watched him. "A delicate place?" She blinked, unsure what he meant. But a comforting place would be nice. A mellow niche somewhere could do them both wonders. Luna looked around, there wasn't much she could offer up as a suggestion. The Doctor seemed to be mulling over, at great speed, the possibilities of their destination. Having finally settled on a place, he gave an announcement and they were off. The door opened once they settled in for a landing and the Doctor asked for a table for two. Luna looked around at their surroundings. it was quite fancy. She looked down at her attire, not feeling too comfortable with how under-dressed she was. They were seated and the Doctor gave a few orders to which Luna could sample. "This is so wonderful. I don't know what to say." She blushed and looked around. There were some aliens lingering but rather than be fearful, she was more curious than anything else. She looked back to the Doctor as their plates and bowls of food were set down between them. She picked up her fork and examined everything, smelling and eating with her eyes before she would select her first taste. There was a piece of what resembled chocolate cake. She nabbed a bit and took a bite. She expected chocolate but instead, it was a mixture of coffee, coconut and blackberries. It had to consistency of a mouse. It was weird but not bad at all. She tried another dish, this time it was bread with bites of some sort meat. This was all so new for her but she was enjoying it. "It's all so different and interesting." She said as she took a drink. It was sweet, a mixture of fruits she couldn't even begin to describe. She looked to see the Doctor eating some colorful noodles. Luna smiled at him and sat back in her seat. This all felt like a dream. Which was better than the nightmare she had been living in days ago. She was so grateful to the man in front of her. "I hope I can help you when the time comes but for now, let's enjoy this." She said to him. - - - Harry moved over, behind her and pushed her gently. She wished she could keep her feelings in line. Harry was going through a lot. They all were. But here they were alone, away from it all and she couldn't help but think about him and them. Ron wasn't around. Ginny and Cho weren't around. it was just them and it felt right and Hermione almost wished it didn't. She pressed her lips together and kept looking ahead. It was only their first night together and here she was, trying to keep things in check. Harry was her friend. Her friend. That was it. Nothing else. Hermione felt him pull her back a little so he could rest his chin on her shoulder. She found it hard to think of anything, anyone but the boy behind her. His arms held her close and she couldn't help but find it incredibly difficult to think of anything relating to Christmas. She and Harry were teenagers and teenagers had feelings and thoughts and Hermione, who usually stuffed her mind inside books and essays, was finding it difficult to think straight. His voice reached her ear and she held her breath. Oh Merlin. She closed her eyes, forcing herself to listen to Harry and not just drift off. They were friends. Just friends. He thanked her for the invitation and then kissed her cheek. She opened her eyes and found her face becoming quite red and heated. Hermione, truth be told, had never kissed anyone. Sure, there had been rumors about her and Krum the year before but nothing had actually happened. And yet here Harry was, so close. He then moved to sit down beside her and she tried to rally her thoughts together. "I...you're welcome. I mean...I...the invitation is long overdue, you should have...come over years ago." He didn't deserve the sheer cruelty of the Dursleys. It wasn't right. "You're welcome here anytime." Hermione said faintly and swallowed. Breathe, Hermione. She looked off, even the cold around them couldn't break the flush across her face. The girl dug her toes into the ground and swung herself. She could barely focus anymore. She hated herself for acting so girly. It wasn't like her to get this emotional. Then again, it wasn't like her and Harry to be miles away from the dangers of the magical world. Hermione wasn't sure what to say or even do. Sure, she wanted to do one or two things but they were completely illogical. No no, she had to just think about Christmas. It was a time of people coming together and celebrating. If she did something foolish or selfish, she couldn't take it back. She needed to think of something besides her best friend right now but nothing seemed to suffice. Talk about his God Father? No. Talk about Umbridge. No way. Ron? Urgh. Hermione felt like there was a cloud hanging over her the more she tried to ignore how she felt but it would seem so out of nowhere. They were friends. Period. "It's good to have this to ourselves." She found herself speak. "The park is so lively but like this, here, I mean with you, I kind of like it." She smiled and pushed him sideways, gently from her swing. "It's different from what I'm used to but it's better this way. I'm glad you're here." She said. It seemed perhaps her statement could have been a metaphor for how she felt. Who knows.
