As of this moment, the only actual Science Officer we have is the Andorian I made who is only an Ensign, so that would probably be the most useful.


There is also more spots available on the bridge, well, more of several but a few of the positions (Chief Engineer, Chief Science Officer, Security etc.) who also can do jobs on the bridge.
