They hadn't caught so much as a glimpse of each other back in Tabul, and surely to Josette, she had no idea of the woman's existence. She seemed relatively unassuming, all things considered. But she had heard Estelle mutter various vagueries about the girl under her breath quite a bit in the days after that mission had ended. It was an exhorbitantly fancy restaurant, though. Even surrounded by expensive tourist magnets, the place was on an entirely different level. As usual, Selan blended in well with the posh environment, but on the inside she was feeling a bit stiff and uncomfortable with how utterly luxurious everything was. It was nice, yet part of her deeply missed her modest home back at in Clockwork. But as these sorts of things always tended to be, there had to be a fly in the ointment somewhere... "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU CALL THIS?! THERE'S SO MUCH OIL ON THIS PEOPLE WANT TO INVADE IT!!!" Lisette ducked low to the table the moment the shouting began, crossing her pigtails at her chin. She hadn't been expecting that at all! "This place is sc..." "Your drinks, bros and sises!" Any worries that Lisette had evaporated by the revelation that the bigger bowl was for her beloved companion. "Oh wow, thank you Mister! What a nice place!" She sat Kapi on the edge of the table next to the bowl, which he lapped at gratefully. The contrast brought up some fuzzy, possibly-nearly-blocked-out memories of Kapi being forcibly taken away from her back at the Manor. Having accommodations made for the capybara like this was just... nice! So nice, that Lisette suddenly brought up her menu fast enough that she almost flipped it forward and hit her nose. The yelling continued every once in a while, interrupting their attempts at conducting the business meeting most of them had been waiting hours for. "Those all sound fine," Selan said in regard to the appetizer suggestions, barely looking up from her menu. There were just too many options, and she wasn't sure whether to order something plain or fancy, familiar or new... She eventually settled on ordering the risotto, seeing as the word and the dish itself were being flung about every few minutes or so. Having decided, she could now focus on a much more important matter. She nodded at Aria's reference to their attempts at asking around earlier in the day. "Mm. I can't say for sure, but it seems like there's some kind of cover-up happening here. I could be wrong... In fact, I'd like to be wrong, but..." Selan's voice was suddenly drowned out by more shouting coming from the kitchen. She trailed off and reached for a sip from her water glass. The bendy straw lay unused next to her utensils, still wrapped in her napkin.
