[h3][color=bc8dbf]Backstory:[/color][/h3] Born to an offshoot of the main Briarwhite clan, Gavin was trained in magic by his father, Gordon Briarwood. Gavin began being tutored in black magic at a young age, the destructive form being alien to him despite his father's many attempts. Undeterred, Gordon switched up his approach, instead teaching Gavin more defensive techniques, at which Gavin was a natural. Gavin's magical portfolio developed to include powerful incantations to boost the strength of his defenses, and life-leeching spells to heal himself while still dealing a small amount of damage to the opponent. Gavin developed what he began to call the "Death of a thousand cuts style", hiding behind his defenses and bombarding the opponent with weak spells. Gavin would not win a magical battle quick, but he would be able to outlast. When the Briarwhite elders decided to make a move back into Citadel County, Gavin objected, stating that the Grimms had held the land long enough for it to truly be theirs. The Elders threw aside Gavin's criticisms and began the returning migration, much to Gavin's chagrin.[/hider]
