Maybe a fruit of a forbidden relationship between a briarwhite and a Grimm?

Of course that his parents died, after all, neither the Grimm nor the briarwhite would tollerate such thing. He survived due to a hasty spell made by his parents with the last of their fading essences (after the attack) and were succesful in protecting him from them, but he was cursed in the process.  Something like that
