Ol' Donny Full Name: Donovan Gleeson Age: 65 Gender: Male Sexuality: Probably irrelevant, but he's heterosexual. Relation to the Firm: A so-called 'Old Hand,' one of the firms longest-serving employees with strong personal ties to the Murphys.
"Ol' Donny" Gleeson is a cheery guy, with a loose tongue and a friendly, winsome personality (Or at the very least, he tries). Formerly hard-living, Donovan has given up smoking, drinking, and sleeping around in that order over the last decade, replacing them with an intense devotion to an evangelical branch of Christianity, much to the dismay of his ex-wife. With no obligation to family to speak of remaining, he has become strongly attached to the Murphys and their dealings, but turning a blind eye to their more unscrupulous decisions, preferring to deny reality than live with the cognitive dissonance of defying his new, but strongly held, moral code. Conciliatory, he is likely to try any and all options before pursuing a violent course, though personal devotion is likely to win out where it conflicts with his sense of morality.

Donny used to stand a full 6', but he is slightly stooped and shorter now, 5'9". Though he is much less agile than he used to be, he is still fit, if perhaps a bit bulkier around the waist than his younger self. He has grey-blue eyes and white hair, which he usually hides under a newsboy cap if he is outside, as the wind easily blows it out of place. He likes to dress up, something he was unable to do when he first started work, and sees it as a point of pride that he can wear nice slacks and a sportcoat, though he is equally comfortable in overalls and other work-clothes should the need arise. He has a slightly raspy baritone voice that still carries the same friendly warmth it always has, even if he isn't able to yell or sing quite as loudly as he once could.

Several years behind the patriarch of the Murphy enterprise, Donny was born to the struggling widow of an immigrant Irishman in Port Rush's old fishing district, before it was condemned and replaced by the high-rise financial center that stands there today. Partly to care for his mother, and partly out of admiration for the fighting spirit of John himself, Donny sought and acquired a job as a maintenance worker- eventually graduating to 'handyman' and finally to a full-blown 'fixer.' Fixers, of course, were not responsible, directly, for any mayhem, but it was often their job to fix unexplained holes in walls, repair anomalous dents that sometimes appeared on the Murphy fleet of vehicles, and occasionally personally ensure safe deliveries or disposal of sundries that were never fully explained. If John needed it done, it would be done, no questions asked, and Donny rather preferred staying in the dark. After years of hard work he was promoted to shepherd the administrative center of the Murphy enterprise, overseeing staff, though he still personally cleaned Mr. Murphy's office and oversaw maintenance on his personal vehicles (by this point Donny was too stiff to do much of the 'on-the-floor' work with cars). Not quite a friend, but always an open ear and spring of advice, he has given the Murphy clan much-appreciated feedback and has helped build the growing sense of camaraderie within the organization, giving Mr. Murphy insight into the general attitudes of his workers.

Donny has an ex-wife, Marie, but she has since moved to Hackensack, though he dutifully sends her a portion of every check (he personally holds no animosity towards her). Other than that, he is an only child and has no surviving children- all of his connections are in his church or in the firm.
My attempt at a submission. Anything you don't like can be changed. I like the idea.
