El thought about Griffin's words and found herself propelled into the past by her ability. Around her the present evaporated to be replaced by the past.

She was standing outside of the time stream watching as a female student she knew step out of the shadows and ask Griffin.

[b] What were you doing [/b]

Which he answered saying in an unusual tone of voice.

[b] Going to lunch and plotting to take over the school [/b]

It was strange to hear Griffin speaking in so creepy a way and the look he gave her sent a chill through her. He reminded her of the sociopaths she'd tracked for the police and so unlike the socially awkward boy she was chatting to. 

[b] Wayne will have you flat on your butt before you can even try and Griffin and Zack wouldn't let you, no matter their state [/b]

Then he grinned more a predator's grin as if he were showing her the teeth he was going to eat her with.

[b] Aren't you cute Kalinda. You think I care what Griffin and Zack think. If they get in my way I will destroy them. They need me more than I need them [/b]

Then he chuckles adding

[b] Bats might try to stop me but he is just a man with a lot of expensive toys. He has no impressive powers. He can't stop me. By the time he tries it will be too late [/b]

Suddenly she was thrown out of her alternate reality and drug back into the present where her knees buckled out from under her.

This had never happened before, sure she sometimes felt weak transitioning from past to present but never a sense of vertigo.
