[@GreenGoat] [@Scio] Actually, since I'm at it, Menhir's ideas would also be more internally consistent. I'm sorry but persecution of mages is a defined part of the setting per the GM, that it's reduced to "oh they just kind of shun them because they're actually superhuman and there's about a literal billion of them across the world" is just weird. It doesn't seem internally consistent. Green your character's backstory is actually based around this element of mage persecution for crying out loud. The proposed ideas would allow the proposed world to operate as it has, just with a framing that would not try to involve quantum mechanics and make more sense in that it limits the number of mages, making the PCs more special, and better justifies the need for this school.
