Ariela~ A scream echoed throughout the halls of the abandoned hospital. Shrill and earsplitting, it found its way to the deepest recesses of the ominous ruin. At the epicenter of this cacophony was Ariela, panicked beyond belief, and with no way to get her bearings. As the shriek subsided and the room fell quiet, she quickly found herself in need of something to grab onto. Her hands fell to the sink that lay below the cause of her terror. She quickly broke into a light sweat, trying desperately to get a grasp on what she was seeing. She tried blinking it away, but no matter how long she held her eyes closed, when they opened that same distorted face stared back at her. It was her face, but it was older, much older. She looked to be eighteen to twenty years of age. Her eyes were dead, soulless things that seemed to want to suck her into the world behind the mirror and take her own place in the real world. The most chilling part of it was their appearance, it seemed as though the eyes belonged to some inhuman species bent on world domination. A disturbingly insane smile stretched across her reflections face. She then realized it was mocking her, judging her for every decision she had made up until now. In a sudden burst of anger her fist found its way into the mirror. She stared at the shattered pieces that lay about her, her hand now dripping with blood, tainting the reflections that now stared back at her. They were a multitude, all of them judging, all of them criticizing. Her fear returned and she fled the bathroom stall, learning to cope with her new face would prove to be quite the challenge.. He had already killed thirteen on this day, and his slaughter was far from over. Upon absorbing each soul he had found himself gaining a significant amount of power and energy. He found this feeling to be fleeting however, it seemed that simply absorbing spiritual energy would not be enough to gain a significant amount of power quickly. This frustrated him to no end, and now he sat upon the roof of a half caved in department store. He studied the horizon, the many chords of the city wove between one another. He noticed that from some places two chords shot out of the ruins and followed each other to the night sky. These were the hosts, if the pair was black it was a conduit, if it was gold it was a guardian. He had chosen to avoid both of these for the time being, partly because of his own lack of confidence, and partly because of Miralda's warnings. What he found most interesting of all however, was how each string traveled to a single center, becoming most dense at the exact point the void gate had once been opened at. They than dissipated into what seemed to be thin air. Miralda had told him that they crossed over to the void from there, the thinnest point between the two existences. Apparently the source of all life in the physical world rested within the void, and these chords met at its center. This intrigued Samuel and he wished to investigate it further, but for now he was preoccupied with other things. Yet another soul had found itself in his cross hairs, and Samuel had tracked the man to this location. His chord of life was dim, meaning he was close to death. Interestingly enough he was paired with a kage, and Samuel could not wait to have his free meal. Miralda had warned him to exercise caution, so he had done just that. He had waited upon this rooftop for an hour, slowly watching as his chord grew thinner and thinner. He was now confident the man posed no threat, and he began his decent. This meal would be rather tasty indeed... (Zephyr, I am hoping that our characters could meet here, if you are not ok with that I will just make it some other guy with a kage, holding on too life with a mere thread.)
