Rank: Captain Name: Ravid Kagan Age: 33 Appearance: 1.82 tall Nationality: Israeli Bio: Born in Tel Aviv, Israel to a Polish father and Hungarian mother, Ravid's childhood had been one of war. He was born shortly after the 1956 Suez Crisis and was a young boy during the Six-Day War and the Yom Kippur War. His father was first a Polish soldier fighting the Nazis, then in the British Army, and fought as a paratrooper in the wars of 1956 and 1967. Around him everybody he knew, as well as the generals on the radio and later TV kept saying how Israel is a fragile country, and that one war, one military failure would undo her. That was his mindset, too, as he became an adolescent. His ever-so-Jewish mother of course wanted him to become a lawyer, an accountant, or something else boring. But he wanted to be like his father - he wanted to be there with the Tzanhanim when another war was to come, instead of being ashamed when he wouldn't be there. And so he did. He joined the paratroopers brigade in 1979, and reached the rank of sergeant before the 1982 war and later left to join the Sayeret Matkal to operate mostly in Lebanon, Syria, and the West Bank, but also as far away as Tunis and Bosnia. Pertinent Combat Information: NCO with the Paratroopers Brigade during the 1982 Lebanon War, serving with distinction during the battle of Beirut. Left regular service in 1985 to join Sayeret Matkal and another unit who's existence is confidential, has served there ever since and has since reached the range of Captain. Most notably took part in the 1988 Tunis raids, as well as many operations in Lebanon and Syria. Has acquired a load of skills over that time, most obvious his skill in Krav Maga and how to use and maintain the weapons used by the IDF. Jump trained, HALO trained, and SCUBA trained - though that's barely been used. While having no experience as a mechanic or engineer, he does know how to wrench a car. And a BTR-152. Her resistance to her strict parents manifested itself in interests rather than behaviour, such as the army. But she didn't like the idea of being a pogue much. Fortunately for her, the Yom Kippur war meant that the Tzahal was going to open up more and more roles for women and as she entered age 18 she qualified herself for sharpshooter training and joined the paratroopers. She served in Lebanon in 1986 as squad sharpshooter, one of the first women serving in the IDF in a frontline capacity. There was nothing super-exciting, really, but her speaking perfect Arabic, English, Farsi and French as well as her native Hebrew in combination with being a capable shooter led to her being introduced to special forces by Captain Kagan. She was with the Matkal for merely a year out of training before being called to some fancy international effort. Pertinent combat information: Used to be a sharpshooter with the paratroopers. Served in the 1982 Lebanon war as well, and has rotated in and out of the Lebanon security zone a number of times. Was pulled into Operation 8 on recommendation of Captain Kagan. However, this is more on account of her linguistical skills and her quick wit and sharp tongue rather than due to exceptional skill handling weapons. She is trained in Krav Maga, Jump and HALO qualified, and knows how to handle a scala of American, British, Israeli, and Russian weapons.
