Name: Siyah Koruma Age: 17 Gender: Female Race: Human Appearance: Kingdom of Origin: Vacuo Personality: First and foremost, Siyah is a professional. Raised to be a mercenary, Siyah considers her purpose to be fulfilling a contract to the letter and leaving with a satisfied client. When under contract, she will not compromise her intended purpose for anything, even the promise of better pay. Both the contract and the client are considered equally important, and Siyah will do everything in her power to keep them safe while under employ. However, orders that go beyond contractual obligations will be refused, unless a new contract is signed…and more money is forked over. Outside of business, Siyah is a sardonic person, prone to making fun of people that she finds weird or amusing. A conversation with her is unlikely to be a friendly, pleasant experience, unless you happen to have paid for one. She is very blunt and to the point, not sparing time for social conventions or people’s feelings. If she is bored, she will likely seek someone out for, as she puts it, “her amusement”, which will usually involve her pestering them until she’s gotten sick of talking. She will also often attempt to volunteer both her and her unit’s services if a good opportunity presents itself. History: The Koruma Company is a mercenary group with a history going back before the Great War. They had an excellent reputation as reliable and effective operatives, and would work for anyone willing to pay, so long as the work was on the level; the Koruma Company makes a point of maintaining a respectable image. Their fortunes waned a bit due to the Great War and its aftermath, but the company survived, and continues to operate to this day. They have partially incorporated themselves into the huntsman institution, and many of their members are both Koruma mercenaries and hunstmen, though they are expected to answer the call of their sponsor group first and foremost. Siyah is a niece of the current head of the Koruma Company. Like many in the family, she was raised from birth to be involved in their work, and she learned a lot of what she knows now from them, be that combat techniques or life lessons. Siyah’s entry into the huntsmen institution is entirely the influence of the company; it is part of her on-going martial training and a venue for her to enter into good paying work. Siyah herself never really questioned what her family wanted for her. They raised her to believe life was all about getting paid, and fighting is what she does well, so being a huntress seemed like a natural step. The Koruma Company always believed in getting more exposure, and so they send their children to academies around the world. Siyah was one of a few that was chosen to be sent to Beacon. She doesn’t know the others that had been sent due to them being way too distant relatives. She doesn’t particularly mind being sent somewhere so far from home, since that is basically going to be her lot in life no matter what. On top of that, she finds the idea of going to somewhere fresh more interesting than attending Shade Academy in Vacuo. Weapons: -Her primary weapon is a doubled bladed axe that turns into a shotgun. -Her secondary weapon is a simple combat knife, as seen in her appearance above. This one usually plays a role in her semblance, and is only rarely relied upon in open combat. Semblance: -Substitution: This semblance involves the user swapping places with a specific person or object. In order to perform the swap, a seal must be placed on the person/object by the user, of which only two can be in active use. There is also a cooldown between uses of this ability (1 post, a few seconds, what have you). Strengths: Siyah was born and bred for combat, and is exceptionally proficient in the use of her weapons. She uses a combination of speed and power to break her opponents down quickly. Her semblance allows her to manoeuvre around the battlefield and surprise her foes. She can also use her semblance to take attacks in place of an ally, which she won’t hesitate to do if need be. She is a heavily disciplined person and is conditioned to take orders from a leader without question. Weaknesses: Lacking significant ranged capabilities, Siyah must close the distance on an opponent to be effective in combat. If observed long enough, the pattern in Siyah’s semblance can be figured out, due to the obvious restriction on her substitutions, making it possible to use her movements against her. Siyah is also a somewhat bull-headed person, preferring to charge in guns blazing rather than act subtly. She requires good leadership to be used to her maximum. *Relationships: TBD Other: -Siyah happens to be good at graphical design, and has created a variety of custom flyers for advertising the Koruma Company. -While lacking in social graces normally, while under contract Siyah is very good at pretending to be everything she’s not, whether that be an aristocratic noble or a ditzy schoolgirl.
