Considering I'm only getting higher on the Zero Escape/Danganronpa inspired horror mystery/escape hypetrain, something like this would be right up my alley! My biggest worry is inexperience with this genre which may or may not lead to an early, gruesome death. Though the way I see it, there are already willing candidates for that. Take them first, mysterious alien monster!

In all seriousness, may I ask how 'character deaths' work? I take it that it's mostly decided by the GM who controls the monster. Through what criteria though? Randomness? Character factors? Something else? And if you're the unlucky chosen, is that it? You just say 'well that was fun' and leave/spectate the rest of the RP? Or can you still influence the flow somehow?
