"I don't think you are a bad luck charm at all." Violet couldn't believe she was with real people who, weren't the dead come back to snack on her. "The town out here is pretty much a grocery store and a gas station. We grow our own food for the most part and we have a well and solar panels on the house so we are fairly self sufficient. There are a couple of milk cows here and a large fenced in garden and chickens so although we don't go into town much we still had to every now and then." "I knew there was something bad wrong as soon as we got to town but Dad had jumped out of the truck too fast. The dead attacked him and started eating him." Violet shivered at the memory and it made her bite her lip with pain. "I moved into the drivers seat and left. I got on the cb and my cell phone and the radio and tv and it was world wide. I've been on my own since then." Violet cuddled as close into Ethan's arms as she could and pulled the covers up to her neck. It was the first time since her father's death that she didn't have that same recurring nightmare. She slept well and until the morning. [@josephb]
