All that was reflected back to her from Devin’s eyes was laughter and enjoyment. A smirk appeared on his face as she pulled him back in for another kiss. Although they had only know each other for such a short time, it felt right to kiss him. No one had ever made her feel so relaxed before. Around him, it was like she did not have to pretend. She could be completely herself. Around her pack she alway had to be alpha, leader, protector, advice giver, the all in all for everyone in the pack. She loved being that for everyone, but around his it was nice to just be able to relax. Avina shifted positions, as she did she felt his arms around her waist tighten as if he was afraid she would pull away. The feeling that act portrayed made her smile even in the midst of kissing him. There was no doubt in her mind how he was feeling about her in that moment. Her fingers that were resting on his cheek, slid up into his hair to pull him closer to her. Everything around her completely disappeared. It was the first time she had ever let her guard down fully since she woke up as a werewolf. It all happened so suddenly. They were kissing, neither thinking about the time, their pack, or their obligations, then he pulled away out of no where. That was when she smelt them. Avina had gotten used to the rotten smell that came from Devin, but the smell coming off the other two made her nose burn. Then he was pushing her off his lap and standing up to face she she could only assume was his pack, no clan. Avina, still crouched on the ground, turned to face the two newcomers, and gave them a growl of warning. Her right hand and knee rested in the ground, her left foot was pressed in the dirt, ready to push her towards potential attackers, and her left hand waited, claws extended, by her side. The two newcomers were both blonde, but it was clear that the young girl in the blood stained dress was newly changed. The older blood had an air of coldness around her that made shivers run down Avina’s spine. Though she could not put her finger on exactly what it was about the older woman, but she scared her. The fear did not show through the look of warning that Avina was hiding behind. Just as the changeling started towards Avina, part of her pack walked into the clearing. Avina had smelt them just a few moments before they walked out, and she did not have to turn to know who was behind her. Brice walked in at the point, his eyes glowing a dull red and wearing a pair of blue jeans. On the left walked a dull brown furred wolf that came to Brice’s elbow, Kiel, and on the right was a white and grey wolf, a changeling, Jessi. Avina stood up as Brice reached her side. Numbers were on her side. Without a word, the two vampires turned around and left. Jessi started to chase after them, but Brice, in the blink of an eyes, grabbed her by the scruff and pushed her down to the ground. Avina turned to Devin, her blue eyes pleading, “Wait…” She reached out, but it was too late, he had left. For a moment, Avina kept her back to the three members of her pack. Emotions rolled over her, and she could not hide them. Behind her, she could hear Brice rubbing Jessie’s fur and the sound of Keil changing. The moment she turned around, there would be hell to pay. The moment she turned around, she had to become alpha again. Taking a deep breath, she let her wolf’s confidence cover her like a coat, then she turned around.
