Lillian grunted and stabbed the tip of Mikhael's sword into the wooden doorway that separated their two seats. The more Mikhael spoke of his undying allegiance to Maya, the more Lillian's face tightened. She turned her head forward and began to tune Mikhael out, focusing on the rythmic beats of Killion's hooves instead. The path was no longer covered in rough stone when they passed the extent of Kale's badlands. What was once a chorus of irritating clicks, turned to one of soft percussion. Lillian looked lost in rapid thought as Mikhael went on about his pride. She didn't want to hear it. It became harder to drown him out with the sounds of travel, though.
