[@DepressedSoviet] I understand your dislike of the idea. However, perhaps if I clarify and provide examples, you'll have a better idea of what I mean by "taking control." Auto-hits would be from a Pokemon off-scene and unexpected. It would be a "hit," but then your response would be yours and, should it fall into a battle, it would play out as a normal back-and-forth. However, I'd like to reserve the right to make attacks land that I "believe" should have landed (against/from NPCs or other PCs). The "meta-gaming" would come in by introducing characters from your own character's past and playing them "with" you. So, for example, introducing a contact Nick had made in Kanto and coming up with a reason for the meeting or interaction to occur. Ultimately, we'd both play them until they leave the scene, or such. So I'd pretty much develop the character for you. The "power-playing" would be my pitting you against someone or something you couldn't possibly succeed. I guess the actual movement of your character isn't necessary, however. I could suggest it ICly and then your character would act in the way that'd be fitting. I'll probably PM you if I need to learn something that your character would investigate/follow/fall for.
