I think EXP gain has to be a direct cause?  Or maybe only happens within the context of an Encounter?  If he gets EXP, then I imagine his LV will skyrocket.  If not... he'll be shell-shocked and maybe think everyone's playing a joke on him or fell asleep.  Then he realizes the truth.  Oh dear.  That would [i]not [/i]make for a happy Blueberry.
