Namely reverance in the Cycle - namely of Life and Death. During the times among the living it meant that Life and Death was sacred. The Arbiteros rarely fought or engaged in conflicts with their enemies - and during the few times that they did, they honored the fallen of both sides, burying both of them, in accustom to their burial rites. This mostly held - be it cremation, burial, water burial or burial with all their possessions. It was believed that in the cycle of Death - the once Living would require them in the next world to come. This policy was held in high-esteem - marking the Arbiteros Kingdom a rather honorable if highly religious society; as any deviation from this was considered heresy and said individuals thrown of the mountain to their death. In their new, forms of the Undead - they maintain their religious belief. Out of nostalgia of their previous lives or simply because its likely the only thing keeping them unified and sane. They had modified their belief of Death - since they had been spared and still walk in these lands, they must have a purpose. Their buildings now resembles mostly tombs and ziggurat-like constructs. While most of their everyday life, is mostly filled with either slumbering or daily prayer. Due to the vast distance both in length and height, there wasn't much to keep them unified - until a peculiar belief began to circle the region. Namely the Cycles. It fit with most of their people - since death could come at a moment' notice yet due to their tight-knit groupings they had immmense respect for their elders and tradition. For around three-hundred years the Kingdom prospered - the electorate being mostly a group of chieftains and several priests. A new plague however, started spreading through the region, namely via Priests travelling from one place to the other. It spread rather rapidly - affliction and death coming in mere days. Panic gripped the region, and the leaders looked to any options to save themselves. When prayer failed, they turned to other magical sources. Namely the art of necromancy - their religion being high on ancestor worship and by that, necromancers were more accepted in their region than others. A great spell was performed, said to 'preserve the people of Arbiteros'. It did, albeit in a way that it cursed them forever to be the living dead.
