As per my understanding, the group doesn't have any alchemists, not any particularly good ones anyway. 

For introductions, it really depends on how GCold has the company proceed after their respective missions are complete. Cold's pretty good about having Ashav hold convenient recruitment sessions when new players come in though, so you could work in a reason for your character to be in the area and to want to join a mercenary company.
