It's honestly just anything ^^; When I said stuff in the materials about making magic swords, it meant pretty much in any way you want to make a magic sword. In terms of runic inlay, it probably wouldn't do much for materials which already conduct magic well but it's best use would probably be to be able ti imbue materials which don't conduct magic with some amount of magic or something like that.
