I see no problems with it now. I'm guessing the thorns/ spikes will constantly be coated in poison, which will be 90% of the time 100% of the time be lethal (How lethal? To a human, or Fiend?), but I trust you in your claims of non-powerplay. 

Though, we still have to wait for the fabulous GM who is currently [S]dealing with work[/S] fighting the dark forces that seek to take hold of the universe itself, I approve regardless :D Welcome to the waiting list.
